Goddess Freya (Creation) - Painter Hrana Janto

When I was seven years old, I walked into my first dance class full of girls my age. They stomped from bended knee to the rhythm of their teacher's nattavangum. I was standing just a few inches behind my mother while she spoke to the teacher. I was shy but full of awe. It was the beginning of a dancing journey.

My mother told me that unlike other little kids, I started walking a little later. But once I started walking, I danced with Joy thereafter. Since I've been two years old, I have processed and understood life and the creative fires of Lord Nataraja through the lines, curves and movements of my body. There has been no experience, no event, no other art, no education, no person that has merged me with Spirit as much as dance has.

Dance is my breath.
